Humble
Beginnings
1984
Founded as American Pool, we established our roots as a regional commercial aquatics operator, specializing in lifeguard recruitment and staffing across the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. As our footprint expanded, we broadened our capabilities across aquatics operations and related services.
1980s
Building on our regional foundation, we expanded into pool cleaning, maintenance, renovation, and repair, marking our entry into maintenance and construction. This period broadened our footprint across the East Coast and diversified our operational capabilities.
1990s
We formalized our strategic partnership with FirstService, aligning operational integration with long-term growth objectives. This enabled us to establish business operations in Canada while continuing to grow domestically.

Following the acquisition of Continental Pools and the formation of Pearl Pools, our aquatics platform expanded into a fully integrated operating model encompassing consulting, design, construction, management, and staffing services.
2000s
We launched United Work & Travel, establishing an in-house international recruitment platform through J-1 and H-2B visa programs, while formalizing and accelerating our acquisition strategy.
2010s
We established a shared services framework to support scale by integrating legal, marketing, finance, and IT across the organization. This structure empowered our field operations teams to focus on operational execution and performance.

Significant growth through acquisitions strengthened our aquatics footprint in the Southeast United States and expanded our presence in fitness and recreation across the Northeast and Canada, establishing a new focus area within our organization.
2020s
We consolidated our fitness and recreation brands across the United States and Canada, forming LIVunLtd. The expansion of American Pool into the Southeast and Southwest, along with the acquisition of Swim Club Management Group, expanded our aquatics platform and reinforced our position as North America’s largest provider of aquatic services.

The acquisition of Advantage Sport & Fitness positioned us as North America’s largest distributor and servicer of fitness equipment. We also launched Amenity Construction Group, consolidating our pool construction brands into a single integrated platform delivering end-to-end aquatic and outdoor solutions.
